Meet the team – Hetal Patel

Meet Hetal, Sheldon Bosley Knight’s auction agent, based in Oadby, Leicester. Hetal is a vital member of the team who is passionate about helping his clients. His kindness spills over to his free time as you will often find him volunteering at the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple where he teaches Gujarati as well as helping those who want to get on the property ladder by offering advice on how to get a mortgage and conveyancing tips. With more than 30 years working in the property sector, he has a sizeable portfolio of rental properties in Leicester and has his sights set on expanding into Dubai.

What is your role and what does your job entail?

As an auction agent, my role varies significantly and there is no typical day. On a normal day I deal with incoming phone calls, taking buyers enquiries, arranging viewings and taking viewing feedback and forwarding phone calls to relevant members of the auction team. Closer to the day of the auction, I register buyers on our portal by providing them with crucial information such as the legal pack and get them ready for the sale itself. On auction day, I man the phone calls to answer last minute queries while other members of the team are busy with auction itself.

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever been given?

As a part of my job, I make a lot of phone calls and for an effective sales call I have been advised you should smile while talking over the phone. I do think it’s an effective piece of advice.
