Meet the team – Will Glendenning

Meet Will, senior auction agent, based in the Stratford-upon-Avon office. Will plays a vital role in the department, dealing with buyers, updating vendors and helping organise the auction. When he’s not working you can find him at the gym or booking his next holiday. Always up for a challenge, Will is also a great cook and keen to try out new recipes to expand his repertoire. He also has a penchant for house plants and, as the office guru on the subject, gets lots of requests for advice on how to look after them!

What is your role and what does your job entail?
As senior auction agent, my role primarily focuses on dealing with buyers, handling offers received ahead of auctions and getting people registered for auctions they are interested in. A typical day involves contacting buyers who have made enquiries, calling those who have attended viewings to gather feedback, updating vendors on the marketing of their property and discussing how the auction is shaping up for them.

What did you do before this job?
Previously, I worked as a lettings negotiator in Shoreditch, London, for two years at Stirling Ackroyd. I adored the team I worked with and have remained good friends with them.

How did you get into the property industry and how long have you worked within it?
I got into property after watching the first season of Selling Sunset on Netflix. I remember saying to myself, “I want to do that,” and I’ve now worked in the property industry for five years and still love it.

What attracted you to working for Sheldon Bosley Knight?
Sheldon Bosley Knight has a great local reputation and a genuinely friendly feel. It’s a place where people care about doing things properly and that really appealed to me.

What’s the best bit about your job?
Without doubt, the people I work with.

What motivates you to work hard?
I’m motivated by constantly wanting to better myself, my career and my life.

Who or what inspires you?
The goals and aspirations I set for myself inspire me to do well.

What are your career goals?
My career goal is to keep progressing. I’m always looking for the next challenge.

What do you do when you are not at work?
Outside work, I’m either at the gym, booking my next holiday, or hunting down new recipes to cook and try.

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever been given?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is: “Be selfish, never let yourself be put last in a race you want to win. Always think about what you need to be the best you can be.” I remind myself of this every time I set a new goal.
