Sheldon Bosley Knight has gone back its roots by re-introducing auctions to its portfolio.
What started out in Shipson-on-Stour in 1843 as a business focusing on auctions and on-site farm sales, has diversified and expanded into nine specialist departments which include rural land, planning and architecture and strategic land and development.
Now as we approach our 180th birthday, the auction side of the business, which was dropped many years ago as the company expanded in other areas, is being re-launched on Monday, November 28 with a sale at Chipping Norton Town Hall.
The sale, which starts at 6pm, will feature lots from across Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. Future sales will take place both online and in person at least every quarter with the next one due in February 2023.
The team is headed up by SBK’s co-owner and director, Dan Jackson.
The latest expansion to the company follows the acquisition of Wigwam Estate and Lettings Agents in Leamington and Banbury and Kavanagh Commercial based in Melksham, Wiltshire, earlier this year and brings the total number of additions to the SBK business this year to six.
Dan said: “Sheldon Bosley Knight began as an auction house in 1843 and so it’s fitting we should add this element back into the business.
“We will offer both a traditional in-the-room experience as well as conducting auctions online so as to attract as many buyers and sellers as possible.
“We said at the start of this year our aim was to grow the business and we have done just that by acquiring five companies, expanding the number of offices, increasing our staff numbers and now going full circle by bringing auctions into our offering.”
